Burch, Porter & Johnson, one of Tennessee’s oldest law firms, is housed in one of downtown Memphis’ oldest & most distinct buildings.
The building is was home to the Tennessee Club, a social club founded in 1875 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Art directing this illustration was the first project I worked on my first day of my first real job out of college at Archer Malmo. I had the privilege of working with the immensely talented illustrator Ken Jacobsen on the project.
We created a cropped version that offers a bit more simplicity for use in marketing and branding.
We followed up the project by screen printing the illustration in black ink at 20×30″ on some creamy deckled-edge printmaking paper. After sending it to Ken for a signature, he told me the large size we printed it was roughly the same size at which he executed the original illustration.
What I Do
Whether a big corporation, small business, design firm, non-profit or friend, I solve problems with design to help you stand out, live long and yield value. Yep. I’m sly like that.
